Meet Emily Cox

Emily is a graduate from the Institute of Clinical Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Honolulu, Hawai’I, with a masters degree of Oriental Medicine. Emily primarily studied under Taoist Master and 64th generation lineage holder Dr. Lillian Chang Y Hsiang, of the World Medicine Institute, who utilized healing modalities such as Qi Kung, and the use of local Hawaiian herbs with Chinese medicine. Taoist teachings strongly advocate the practice of humility and self-preservation, and Emily strives to brings these aspects into each treatment, educating patients on practical ways they can continue to unlock their own healing potential.

Emily also studied and worked with Joe Bright, owner of Kama'aina Acupuncture in Kaimuki, as well as Tai Hawkins, of Olanani Acuoasis in Kailua, HI.​

​​​​​​​Her experiences range from treating chronic pain, auto-immune disorders, paralysis, infertility, facial and cosmetic acupuncture, as well as incorporating Chinese astrology into her treatments. She currently practices and teaches Hatha yoga, and is a student of Mark Whitwell, who teaches a breath-focused flow, called the “Heart of Yoga,” which is aimed to be accessible to every single body. Her favorite quote from Mark is: “The secrets of the universe are in you, as you.”

 

Emily graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts and English from St. Lawrence University, and continues to pursue her passions such as singing, playing guitar, writing poetry, and painting.

Acupuncture
This service is offered on a sliding scale, of $65-120. You decide how much you'd like to pay, or what you can afford. 

Acupuncture is an ancient healing practice, that has been used over 2,500 years to relieve stress, pain, promote relaxation, and improve health and well-being. Very fine needles are placed into specific points on the body to stimulate a therapeutic effect and balance qi (energy) within the body.
Fire Cupping
$50 


Fire cupping utilizes heat to create suction and negative pressure, lifting connective tissue and releasing rigid muscles. Cupping pulls stagnation, waste, and toxins to the skin level where it can be easily flushed out by the lymphatic and circulatory system.
Acupuncture and Fire Cupping
$120

Several cups are placed on the body, for 30 minutes or so, targeting specific areas of pain, such as the shoulder, neck, lower back.  Then, fine needles are placed into specific points on the body, to create overall balance and harmony.

Facial Rejuvination Acupuncture
$120


Facial acupuncture targets specific areas of the face with very fine needles in order to promote blood circulation, cellular regeneration, and bringing qi (energy) to the face. This includes body acupuncture to support the over flow of energy and promote healing.
